Mr. Green was born in Napa Valley, California. He received his undergraduate degree from Yale University in 1963 and his law degree from the University of Southern California in 1966. He served as law clerk to Justice Jesse A. Udall of the Arizona Supreme Court from 1966 to
1967.
Michael practiced law and was a shareholder/partner in the law firm of Fennemore Craig from 1967 through 2010, where he chaired the Government Relations practice group for more than 30 years. Michael was a shareholder in the law firm of Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck from 2011-2014. After 49 years of practicing in major law firms, Michael opened his own boutique law firm on January 1, 2015.
He is the acknowledged “Dean of the Arizona Lobbying Corps” having lobbied the legislative and executive branches of the state for over 47 years. During that time, Michael has been a major participant in a broad spectrum of public policy areas representing a diverse array of major corporations and trade associations. His primary areas of expertise range from taxation, tort reform, healthcare, telecommunications, alcoholic beverages, housing, energy, transportation and mining, to general business and corporate issues.
Mr. Green is as equally adept at stopping legislation contrary to his clients’ interests, as he is at drafting and passing legislation. His skills are unmatched when he must develop the facts, articulate the strategic objective, and implement the tactics necessary to achieve his clients’ goals – even when the public policy issues are complex, many interest groups are involved, and coalitions must be built.
Mr. Green also brings to his legislative practice the experience gained from being actively involved in numerous civic, charitable and community causes.
